Foreigners who received a short-stay visa for Belgium must register with the municipal administration of the municipality where they reside in Belgium within three working days of arrival.
The following are exempt from this obligation:
- foreigners who take up residence in a hotel or an equivalent establishment;
- children under the age of 15 provided that their presence is notified to the competent authorities;
- seamen, who meet the conditions set to go ashore;
- foreigners who enjoy special privileges under international customs, accords or agreements.
